The pageant focused on three categories:
- An interview about accomplishments, community service and life goals
- School fashion wear
- And formal wear
The top ten contestants have the opportunity to win $60,000 in college scholarship money.
Olympia has maintained a 4.0 GPA, is in the National Junior Honor Society and the Math Club, and is the Editor-in-Chief of her school's yearbook. She also has a winning smile.
She is very interested in science and is hoping to win the scholarship money needed to attend a competitive school.
"As a parent, I am allowing her to enter the pageant because the nice thing about this pageant versus other pageants is that they are looking for girls with good character," said Olympia's mother Nancy.
Olympia attends Traverse City West Middle.
